Overview
IAMGOLD, a growing international gold-mining corporation, had Oxygen produce its first CSR report. The goal: communicate its company-wide commitment of operating with the highest standards for human health, safety and sustainability to achieve its common vision of Zero Harm.
Accountability and transparency shaped the strong highlighting of numbers in this piece. Reporting the actual number of accidents, schools built, environmental spills, and employees banding together for safety implementation were just a few examples that helped demonstrate IAMGOLD’s broad framework for how it intends to measure and achieve Zero Harm.
Details
Using supplied photography from the company’s mining sites and surrounding communities, people were portrayed as the forefront of the company, highlighting the faces of improved safety performance, and social and environmental stewardship, and reinforcing IAMGOLD’s belief that Zero Harm is achieved only through the commitment of every person in the company. The report articulated IAMGOLD’s vision to stakeholders and provided an effective marketing tool for new-development prospects, helping to position IAMGOLD for future growth. Only 200 necessary copies of the report were printed, produced digitally on eco-friendly paper, with the document available for download through the company website.
