Overview
When the historic Belleville Collegiate Institute stopped functioning as a high school, the community undertook the initiative of repurposing the architectural landmark as the Bay of Quinte’s first cultural centre. It asked Oxygen to brand its capital campaign and develop communications pieces that would articulate the vision behind the Quinte Cultural Centre and the role it would play in the greater community, and help raise funds for its development.
Details
Emphasizing the community-building role the centre would play, Oxygen created the campaign tagline “People Connecting People.” Our challenge was bringing to life an understanding and compelling story of the transformation’s potential. With no available visual assets, we commissioned an approachable, human-centred illustration of a cross-section of the building, depicting its envisioned uses. This gave potential donors an engaging look at the opportunity the Quinte Cultural Centre could represent in the community’s future. In addition to a comprehensive case for support, we created a smaller brochure intended to prompt donations from individuals in the community. The centre found a place in the hearts and minds of residents early on in the campaign’s process.
