Overview
Vince Noguchi is considered one of Canada’s leading food photographers but hadn’t promoted himself in a very long time. He wanted a different way to showcase his evolving work and expand his client base.
Art buyers’ in-trays are crowded with photographer promos, so we gave Vince a standout feature: smell. We collaborated with him on the concept and art direction to create Common Scents – a pair of scented-ink promos featuring “Chocolate” and “Cherry”, with themed, mouth-watering images and matching scents.
Details
The “touch & smell” ink and the beauty of the shots created a multi-sensory experience that lingered in art buyers’ minds – and noses. The promos were mailed in brightly coloured paper bags to attract attention. Vince’s promos were and still are a huge success. When the ‘Chocolate’ series hit the streets, it received an overwhelming response, and the “Cherry” promotion was recognized by Applied Arts Photography Awards in the Still Life category.
